A narrative text uses all the story elements: a beginning, middle and ending, plot, characters, setting and climax; all these elements come together to complete a story.

-
A narrative text is usually told chronologically.
-
It may use dialogues.
-
It is written with bright descriptions to involve the reader.
The word narrative is often synonymous with story. The story is told by a narrator. The narrator is considered participant if he/she is a character within the story, and non-participant if he/she is an implied character or an omniscient or semi-omniscient being or voice that merely relates the story to the audience without being involved in the actual events. Some stories have multiple narrators to illustrate the storylines of various characters.
We are narrators of our own lives all the time. When we talk or write about our daily routine, the story that we tell is a narrative. If we write about what we did the previous weekend, we are also narrating.

A narration may include other elements such as descriptions or dialogues.

Narrative writing is very important in our day-to-day life. For the rest of our life, we will write texts, e-mails, letters, blogs, etc. about our ambitions, information we know, and feelings we have.
